Above we see the sacred geometrical structure - a stunning five-petaled rose, one of the origins of the pentagram - the venusian synodic cycle draws across the heavens over a period of eight years, as seen from our perspective here on earth. The big yellow dot is our sun, with our home planet earth depicted in the middle.
As a psychic witch, I have been visitied and was claimed as her priestess by the Goddess of Love in late 2023 - she came to me during a time of need, heartbreak and healing, showing me how to rise from the ashes more empowered, in deeper connection to my purpose and authenticity than ever before. In mythology, many goddesses (who were shown to me as multiple incarnations of that same ultimate stream of consciousness) are associated with the planet Venus - however, the first one we have written record of was the Sumerian Inanna - who had to visit the underworld, die and resurrect (thousands of years before the story of Jesus), just like the light-bearer morning star, Venus, regularly disappears behind the sun, only to to be reborn as evening star, now symbolizing the wisdom that comes with having integrated the lessons of ego-death and pain, the substantial, deep, soul-level nourishment of enjoying the fruit of ones' emotional labour and inner refinement.
This is the power of love alchemy. Not fighting the underworld, but surrendering to it; meeting every single emotion with loving acceptance - because that's what's underneath it all, grief too simply opens our eyes to what we love -, enables us to process and resurrect, in an endlessly repeating cycle of dis- and reintegration, of growth and development, pleasure and pain. After all, these two opposites are really only two sides of the same coin, annointing each other, circling around one another in an elegant dance of magnetizing polarity, being pulled closer together with each round - until they merge into one, in explosive delight. Ecstasy can be found even in hardship. Venus showed me that, truly, reality is made out of love. That love is always abundant. She is the fertile, life-giving, creative power of nature, the beauty and radiance that comes with being deeply embodied, expressing ourselves authentically as these unbelievably unique, precious sparks of divine light we ultimately are - underneath all the toxic survival- and domination-based conditioning thousands of years of patriarchy have imbedded inside all of us collectively...
Honoring Venus - and working with her synodic cycle, her expressive, warrior-like morning star qualities, just as much as her introverted underworld phase, in addition to the wisdom and gentleness she bestows upon us as evening star - means honoring the heart. Living from the heart, as the bridge between the higher and lower three chakras, between body and spirit, cultivating inner union and balance. Creativity springs from that place. Even in Christian mythology, the Holy Spirit, bridge between worlds and source of inspiration, is symbolized by a dove - an ancient symbol for Venus and Aphrodite (birds are sacred to her, as messengers from the heavens.) It means opening to life fully, opening to pleasure and sensuality, to the ecstatic intimacy and love tasted upon simply receiving the present moment. Cartomancy is just one way of connecting to the wondrous, synchronistic magic of any given present moment, to the ultimate mystery which so lovingly comes to meet and hold us, as soon as we surrender to chance, to the uncertainty of drawing seemingly random card images - everything in life is in some sort of relationship to everything else. And Venus, as the connective, sexual (sexual energy is really nothing but creative life force) tissue of love, of thresholds and merging, is of unimaginable value when it comes to getting into right relationship with ourselves, each other, and Mother Earth. Harmony in all of these relationships (be it proportions, objects or individuals) is the experience of beauty. This is my life's work. Cultivating venusian beauty and love inside of me, so that it may heal and nourish everything I come into contact with. Blessed be the Goddess.🌹
Connecting With Her
If you feel called to work with her, don't be too shy to reach out. Leave an offering or two - she's fond of sweets and chocolate, apples, roses, candles and perfume, but also poetry, dance, music and orgasmic energy, among many different things -, meditate on her, maybe get some divination tools out and see what comes through. As mentioned above, doves (alongside swans and sparrows) are some of her symbols, as are the colors green, pink, and white. To me, she can be a little sarcastic and definitely has a sense of humor, but, as the Goddess of Love, she's very approachable and will always help you become the most authentic, empowered, beautiful and aligned version of yourself. Her secrets reach way deeper than what patriarchal diffamation has made you believe about her as a shallow sex symbol. And if you let her in, she'll show you. Be ready for profound transformation - amidst a lot of fun.🌹
